The Farplants Group are the trusted outdoor plant supplier to hundreds of garden retailers throughout the UK, growing over 11 million plants a year. Our customers can choose from over 2000 varieties, all of which have been selected for their outstanding performance, sell-through and bench appeal.

We’re looking for an experienced Finishing Centre Area Manager who can take responsibility for the smooth and efficient running within the dispatch facility of one of the UK’s leading wholesale suppliers of outdoor plants.



As a Finishing Centre Area Manager in the horticulture industry, you will be expected to have excellent management abilities, showing the ability to complete day-to-day planning alongside being responsible for the training and development plans of all permanent and temporary staff.

Excellent communication and leadership abilities are imperative to succeed in this role, as you will be expected to also carry out a range of HR and training activities. It is essential that you have experience of managing within a fast paced production environment. You must have an excellent knowledge of health and safety policies. It is highly desirable that you have a recognised qualification in health and safety and a management qualification.

Exposure to and use of modern production control methodologies, such as Lean and 6 Sigma, is an important requirement. It is not necessary to have qualifications in these subjects but it is essential to have a good working knowledge of them.

You will be responsible for ensuring that all health and safety standards are being adhered to, whilst maintaining our customers quality standards. Further to this, you will be responsible for managing KPI’s of all permanent and temporary staff.

Suitable candidates for this position are likely to have a background in high volume production as a Shift Manager.


Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
